This pallet is designed for customers who want a substantial supply of firewood in smaller, easier-to-handle packs.

The 64-bag format offers several practical advantages:

• Smaller and lighter individual packs than 60-litre boot bags
• Built-in handles for easier lifting and carrying
• Easier movement through narrow doors, paths or restricted access
• Tidy stacking in sheds, garages and log stores
• Use one small bag at a time while the remaining logs stay packed
• Distribute the bags between different storage areas if required

The smaller bags are particularly useful for customers who want the value of a pallet purchase without having to handle larger individual packs or unload a wooden crate of loose logs.

How do kiln-dried birch logs burn?

Silver birch is an easy-lighting hardwood that produces a bright, lively flame and fast, responsive heat.

Birch logs are particularly well suited to:

• Lighting a stove or open fire quickly
• Producing fast warmth on cold mornings and evenings
• Creating a bright and attractive flame
• Shorter fires where a very slow burn is not required
• Building up heat before adding denser hardwood logs

Birch is less dense than woods such as ash and oak, so it burns more quickly and may require more frequent refuelling. This is also what makes it responsive and relatively easy to light.

The logs may be used in suitable fire pits, chimeneas and wood-fired pizza ovens, subject to the appliance manufacturer’s instructions.

How much wood is on the pallet?

The pallet contains 64 tightly packed bags, each with a nominal capacity of 22 litres.

64 × 22 litres = 1,408 litres, or 1.408m³ combined nominal bag capacity.

This figure describes the combined nominal capacity of the bags. It is not a measurement of solid timber and should not be treated as an exact loose-volume or stacked-volume equivalent.

The bags are tightly packed rather than loosely filled. Comparisons with boot bags, tote bags, bulk bags or hand-stacked crates should therefore account for the different packing methods and the varying amounts of air between individual logs.

How does this compare with larger boot bags?

The 24 × 60L boot-bag pallet has fewer, larger packs. This Comfort Flame pallet divides a similar overall nominal capacity between 64 smaller handled bags.

Choose the Comfort Flame bags if easier lifting, carrying and restricted access are your priorities. Choose the 60L boot bags if you prefer fewer individual packages.

How does this compare with a hand-stacked crate?

A wooden crate is measured using its hand-stacked log volume, whereas this product is measured using the nominal capacity of 64 individual bags. The figures describe different packing methods and are not directly interchangeable.

Choose the bagged pallet for smaller individual packs and easier handling. Choose a hand-stacked crate if you prefer less packaging and are happy to unload and store the logs after delivery.

What is included?

Your order contains:

• One pallet containing 64 Comfort Flame carry bags
• Approximately 22 litres of tightly packed logs in each bag
• 100% silver birch logs
• Split logs with natural bark
• Logs cut to approximately 24cm, with a tolerance of ±1cm
• A pallet cover fitted for transport and temporary weather protection

Kindling and firelighters are not included.

The clear printed plastic bags have built-in carry handles and heat-sealed tops. A row of small ventilation holes is positioned below the seal.

Ready to Burn and PEFC-certified birch logs

The logs are Ready to Burn certified under certificate number WS6431/00001 and typically measure below 20% moisture.

They are ready to use without further seasoning, provided they are kept dry and properly stored after delivery.

The product is supplied under PEFC certification number PEFC/12-31-084.

Burning properly dried firewood helps your appliance operate more efficiently and produces a cleaner, more dependable fire than burning wet or insufficiently seasoned logs.

How to store the bagged logs

The pallet will arrive with a protective pallet cover. This provides protection during transport and temporary cover immediately after delivery, but it is not intended as a permanent outdoor storage solution.

Move the bags under suitable cover for long-term storage.

For best results:

• Store the bags somewhere dry and protected from rain
• Keep them raised above wet ground
• Avoid leaving the pallet exposed outdoors for prolonged periods
• Check that water cannot collect around or beneath the bags
• Do not rely on the transport cover as permanent weatherproof storage
• Only bring the quantity you need indoors at one time

Free standard delivery is included to most UK mainland postcodes. Enter your postcode during checkout to confirm availability and view any applicable regional surcharge before payment.

The 64 bags are supplied together on one pallet and covered for transport.

National orders are normally delivered to the kerbside or nearest safe and accessible point. The driver will use a pallet truck, which requires a firm, flat and level surface such as concrete or tarmac.

Pallet trucks cannot normally operate safely on:

• Grass or soft ground
• Loose gravel
• Steps or raised thresholds
• Steep slopes
• Uneven or damaged surfaces

Local delivery using our own vehicles is available in parts of South Cumbria, North Lancashire and North Yorkshire.

Collection is also available from our depot in Sedbergh.
