FAQs

Are these heat logs / wood briquettes Ready to Burn (low moisture)?

Many heat logs and wood briquettes are manufactured to a consistently low moisture content and are Ready to Burn certified where stated on the product page. Low moisture helps fuel light more easily, burn hotter, and produce less smoke than damp wood fuel.

What appliances can I use heat logs and briquettes in?

Most heat logs and briquettes are suitable for wood burners and multi-fuel stoves. Some products can also be used on open fires, chimeneas and fire pits. Always follow your appliance manufacturer guidance and use a working carbon monoxide (CO) alarm.

How do I use heat logs / briquettes without overheating my stove?

Heat logs and briquettes can burn very hot and very consistently. Start with a hot ember base, then add fuel gradually — often 1 briquette at a time until you learn how your stove responds. Maintain airflow for clean combustion and avoid overloading the firebox.

Heat logs vs wood briquettes vs kiln-dried logs — what’s the difference?

  • Kiln-dried logs: natural firewood; lively flame and traditional “log fire” feel.
  • Heat logs / briquettes: compressed wood fuel for predictable, repeatable heat and tidy storage.

Many customers use kiln-dried logs to establish flame, then add a briquette/heat log to extend burn time and steady the heat.

How should I store heat logs and briquettes?

Keep them completely dry and stored under cover, raised off the ground where possible. Avoid damp corners and condensation. Once opened, reseal packs or transfer fuel to a dry container to protect performance.

How are Heat Logs delivered (pallet vs parcel) and what access is needed?

Most Heat Logs products ship via pallet delivery (kerbside) and are placed at the nearest safe accessible point using a pallet truck (firm, level access required). Selected smaller items ship via parcel courier with tracking — the delivery method is shown on the product page. If access is tight for a pallet delivery, contact us before ordering.
