Why choose a single 60L bag of birch logs?

This single bag is a practical choice when you do not need the quantity supplied on a full pallet or in a wooden crate.

It is particularly suitable for:

• Occasional stove or open-fire use
• Topping up an existing supply of logs
• Trying the logs before committing to a full pallet
• Homes with limited storage space
• Customers who prefer tracked parcel delivery
• Ordering several individual bags without receiving a pallet

The bag does not have carry handles, but the single-pack format is more convenient to receive and store than a bulk pallet when only a modest quantity is required.

How do kiln-dried birch logs burn?

Silver birch is an easy-lighting hardwood that produces a bright, lively flame and fast, responsive heat.

Birch logs are particularly well suited to:

• Lighting a stove or open fire quickly
• Producing fast warmth on cold mornings and evenings
• Creating a bright and attractive flame
• Shorter fires where a very slow burn is not required
• Building up heat before adding denser hardwood logs

Birch is less dense than woods such as ash and oak, so it generally burns more quickly and may need topping up more frequently. This is also what makes it responsive and relatively easy to light.

The logs may also be used in suitable fire pits, chimeneas and wood-fired pizza ovens, subject to the appliance manufacturer’s instructions.

What is included?

Your order contains:

• One tightly packed 60-litre bag of kiln-dried silver birch logs
• Split logs with natural bark
• Logs cut to approximately 24cm, with a tolerance of ±1cm
• An outer cardboard box for parcel delivery

Kindling and firelighters are not included.

The logs are supplied in a durable white stitched polypropylene bag. The bag is unventilated and does not have carry handles. It is stitched closed to keep the logs securely contained during transport and storage.

For parcel delivery, the original bag is placed inside an outer cardboard box.

Ready to Burn and PEFC-certified birch logs

The logs are Ready to Burn certified under certificate number WS6431/00001 and typically measure below 20% moisture.

They are ready to use without further seasoning, provided they are kept dry and properly stored after delivery.

The bag displays PEFC certification number PEFC/12-31-084.

Burning properly dried firewood helps your appliance operate more efficiently and produces a cleaner, more dependable fire than burning wet or insufficiently seasoned logs.

How to store your birch logs

Move the bag somewhere covered, dry and protected from rain after delivery. The cardboard parcel box is intended for transport and should not be relied upon for outdoor storage.

For best results:

• Store the bag in a shed, garage, log store or other dry area
• Keep it raised above wet ground
• Protect the bag and cardboard box from rain
• Avoid storing it in a damp or poorly ventilated location
• Only bring the quantity needed into the room at one time

Tracked parcel delivery

Tracked parcel delivery is included to most UK mainland postcodes.

The original 60L bag is placed inside an outer cardboard box and dispatched by parcel courier. Tracking information will be emailed when the order is dispatched.

Delivery is usually made within three working days of dispatch. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.

You may be asked to choose a delivery date during checkout. This date-selection function is intended primarily for pallet deliveries and does not guarantee the arrival date of a parcel order.

Customers may order more than one individual bag through this listing. Each bag will be prepared for parcel delivery. For larger quantities, the 24-bag pallet may offer a more suitable delivery format.

Parcel delivery is not currently available to:

• BT postcodes in Northern Ireland
• GY9, including Alderney and Sark
• Addresses outside the United Kingdom
