A coal bunker is a weatherproof outdoor storage unit designed to keep solid fuel (coal, smokeless fuel, briquettes, etc.) tidier and better protected from rain and debris. Keeping fuel drier usually helps it light more easily and burn more consistently.
Which size should I choose — CB2 (300kg) or CB3 (500kg)?
Choose CB2 (300kg) for lower-to-medium usage, smaller storage areas, or if you buy fewer bags at a time. Choose CB3 (500kg) for higher usage, bulk-buying fuel, or if you want longer intervals between re-orders. Check the Specification tab for the approximate bag equivalents.

Coal bunkers are suitable for storing most solid fuels such as smokeless fuel, coal, briquettes and peat. They’re intended for storage only and should be kept outdoors on a stable base.
How is a coal bunker delivered and what access is needed?
Coal bunkers are delivered on a pallet (kerbside delivery). The driver will deliver to the nearest safe point accessible by a pallet truck—typically kerbside/driveway entrance rather than inside a property. You’ll need firm, level ground (tarmac or concrete is ideal). Pallet trucks can’t operate on gravel, grass, steep slopes, soft ground, or steps.
Do I need to assemble it and where should I place it?
All our bunkers are delivered ready to use. Place it on a flat, firm base before filling (paving slabs, concrete or tarmac are ideal).
Will storing fuel in a bunker improve performance?
A bunker won’t “dry” fuel like a kiln, but it can help keep bagged solid fuel drier and cleaner by reducing exposure to rain and ground moisture. Drier fuel typically lights easier and burns more efficiently than damp fuel.
