Biomass Wood Pellets

Here at Dawsons Fuels, we are proud suppliers of Woodlets wood pellets. Woodlets are produced right here in the UK. They are perfectly suitable to use in a full range of biomass boilers, wood pellets boilers and wood pellet stoves.

Pellet fuels (or pellets) are biofuels made from condensed organic matter and biomass, specifically 100% virgin wood fibre. Pellets can be made from any of five general biomass categories: industrial waste, co-products, energy crops, agricultural residues and virgin lumber.

Our Biomass Wood Pellets are the common type of pellet fuel and are delivered on pallets (or half pallets) pre-packed in 15kg bags. Not only do the bags protect the Wood Pellets from the elements, they are also easy to manage, lift and move - a winner all round!

Biomass Wood Pellets are a high quality, renewable energy fuel supply, that is a fantastic alternative replacement for oil and tanked gas central heating systems in off-grid locations. These can be used for the generation of fuel, commercial and residential heating.

With a standard shape and small size, it makes it possible to feed automatically with very fine calibration. They can be fed to a burner by auger feeding or pneumatic conveying.

Fireside Accessories

Neat and tidy storage of fuels is an important part of your coal or wood supply process – durable plastic coal bunkers will keep house coal and smokeless stove fuels perfectly dry and free of foreign objects such as blown leaves or general debris – dry, clean coal or stove briquettes will be less prone to spit and steam when added to your fire. Coal dust can also stain decking, patio tiles or brickwork, so it makes sense to keep it from tumbling out of an open store. We recommend situating your coal bunker on a plywood or other flat “tray” that extends some distance in front of it, to avoid staining in front and to make it easier to shovel up the coal.

Wood needs to be kept dry as well, but it also needs good airflow around the stack so that the drying process can continue and rotting is inhibited, so a covered open shelter is ideal. Wood can stay in a stack for several years, particularly at the bottom. The dryer your wood, the more heat energy it will release, and 20% moisture content is considered dry. Wetter woods are more likely to clog up your chimney or flue lining with smoke particles, and they will not burn quite as well (essentially, some of the energy is going into drying them out rather than heating your room).

Kiln Dried Logs and Heat Logs

All of our kiln dried logs and heat logs are Woodsure Ready to Burn approved. Our kiln dried logs all have a moisture content of 20% or less. Heat logs generally have a moisture content of around 10%.

The main advantage of kiln dried logs is that they are ready to burn at any time of year. They don't need to be seasoned before they can be used. Kiln Dried Logs burn hotter and for longer.

By thoroughly drying through a purpose-built kiln this wood achieves very low moisture content which in turn produces a higher heat for a longer time. The result for you is a stunning wood fuel that gives you great value for money through higher levels of efficiency.

We offer bulk bags and free delivery to selected areas, so if you have any questions regarding our products and services please contact us. You can do this by either calling 015396 20210 or dropping us an email to sales@dawsonsfuels.co.uk

Smokeless Fuels

Choosing the right fuel for your stove, wood burner, multi-fuel stove burner or open fire will ensure you achieve the most efficient heating results. Stove fuels burn more consistently than natural coal in a low oxygen environment, but still require a stove with a grate to allow the ash to fall away. On the other hand, burners for wood only may just have an ash bed firebox.

Our comprehensive range of types, shapes and sizes of stove fuel ensures you’ll be able to find something to suit your stove.

Ready to Burn smokeless fuels can be more pleasant to work with on an open fire than traditional coal and they may help to reduce the build-up of soot. They are also kinder to the environment.

Ready to Burn smokeless fuels still give out the same heat output as normal, non-authorised fuels like house coal, but will last for a longer period of time.

Here at Dawson Fuels, we supply a wide range of smokeless fuels for wood burning stoves, closed appliances and much more. Simply browse through our range of solid fuels, smokeless coals and add them straight to your basket!
